Dr Patel had been life changing! He is hands down the best doctor I've had in year's. He has excellent bed side manners and will explain all the available options then he expresses why he would chose the best option and his assistant is amazing as well a very kind. When I'm in there hands I feel totally comfortable. Now after finding the good doctor not only does he treat me but he also treats my mom and dad as well as my wife is treated by him. If you need a great listener who will explain the facts and then provide great options to achieve your desire outcome this is the doctor you need!

Dr Patel is definitely not qualified to assume the responsibility of being my primary care physician. He demonstrated disinterest, ineptitude and indifference which in my opinion makes him unreliable and incompetent. He does not listen to his patients and shows a level of egocentric arrogance. During my appointment he didn’t make eye contact and did not read my documented medical history which I supplied for him. Instead he was focused on his computer and answering phone calls on his cellular repeatedly interrupting the flow of the appointment and derailing from it. Not once did he asked a question pertinent to my medical history. Having not met my expectations I will therefore fire him as my primary care physician and continue engaging in my search. His staff however is very friendly and willing to assist the patient but are not reliable when it comes to responding to patient requests and calls making it necessary for the patient to continue calling in order to to remind them of important issues at hand and they also sometimes commit mistakes on scheduling or other issues.

This is by far the worse Doctors office in Ocala. Very impersonal staff. My family had been patients for years when Doctor R. Patel had really good, friendly staff. The current office staff are not compassionate at all and their medical orientation is to treat patients in need with arrogance, and impatience no matter how hurting you may be, no exceptions to policy, no immediacy in care.Ocala has plenty of good family doctors. I know, because since leaving Dr R. Patel, I have gotten better treatment and I am doing much better than with Dr R. Patel. My current Doctor takes time to analyze and treats with medications and advice, and don't just send one off the Specialists all the time, as Dr R. Patel does.

If I could give a star less than 1, I would! The office looks nice and slightly impressive in the lobby, but the room we were in, had a dirty tray and we were there for my 3-year-old, but yet, she was seated on a doctor bench that was also labeled for pap smears. My husband was instantly disgusted. I was very upset about that, but also for the unprofessionalism of the staff...including the doctor. The nurse that came in was having problems with the computer and it took forever for her to ask us necessary questions. Then, after she left, it was more than 20 minutes before the doctor came in. When he did, he didn't introduce himself. Then he got up and left without saying anything. When he came back, he diagnosed my daughter with some BS diagnosis, and that was the end of it. My 7-year-old could've diagnosed her better! I highly suggest you DO NOT go to this office!!! Find another doctor....especially if it's pediatric care!

Dr. Patel is an amazing physician, and this review is not about his competency or level of care provided to his patients. His staff however, are the absolute worst staff I've ever encountered.

From the beginning, his team insisted on greeting me with harsh, rude, and mediocre service. I can't begin to explain how many bad bad BAD experiences I've had with his nurses, and receptionists. I would love to provide a narrative on all of the bad experiences, but I don't want to devalue the level of care provided by Dr. Patel. I believe Dr. Patel is doing his best to provide quality care, but he has no idea that his staff are treating patients with such disrespect and profound negligence.

I have never had an appointment at this office that did not result in me leaving the office in tears. I've been denied treatment, by staff multiple times... and I am certain that Dr. Patel has no knowledge that they are doing this. I've been in their waiting room, literally panting to catch a breath (I'm highly asthmatic) and had Lindsay (the receptionist) tell me that i cannot be seen unless I make some outrageous payment, because they are CONSTANTLY having issues with my insurance (and I just submit and make the outrageous payments, because I'm in crisis at the time). I haven't had issues with any of my other physicians and insurance... only here. On this same visit, Dr. Patel saw that I was crying and in a serious crisis situation in the waiting room and agreed to treat me. The staff however, were prepared to just let me leave and hope for the best.

My final straw was when I went to my pharmacist to refill a prescription for an inhaler, and they said that I needed a refill from my physician. I called the office, made my request, and was rudely told that I needed to make another appt before they would refill an INHALER. Not a pain killer, not an anti-depressant, not a blood stabilizing medication.... but an inhaler which is essential for breathing, and I have taken the SAME inhaler for 16+ years. First I spoke with Lindsay, and she said "Well, you're supposed to be seen every 3 months by your doctor, and you haven't been here since September." I told her that this information was never shared with me (and who sees a doctor every 3 months for a simple wellness check? Who does that?) and she responded with, "well, it's common practice, and you should know that.... and you should've called us sooner." I asked to speak with Dr. Patel several times as the receptionist and a few nurses tossed the phone around for a chance to throw a jab.... they never obliged. They continued to tell me about all of the reasons they would refuse to fill the script, and offered no solutions or remedy. I made this call on a Friday, and had to go the entire weekend.... and still now, without an inhaler. I could have an asthma attack, and die... because they are refusing to deliver proper care.

I am sad to leave Dr. Patel, but I am telling you that these ladies who are working at his facility will drive his business into the ground. I have contacted the better business bureau, am writing a letter to Dr. Patel and I plan to make sure every singe person I know is cautious about the staff at this office. It's just sad that they are working in a business to help people, but they don't want to help. They belittle you, and then close the door. Solutions people, can we please work on solutions Worst office ever. DO NOT GO HERE!

This office has moved. I have been with Dr. Patel since 2006. I now live 2 hours away and drive to Ocala for all my medical needs. Dr. Patel treats his patients with kindness and love. I have depression and anxiety which causes me to have lots of tears. Dr. Patel and Brandy are so sympathetic and take their time in talking with me. Much Love Dr. Patel, Brandy & Lindsey

Patel had patients at 9am yet couldn't bother to get to work until 9:30 then I explained to the nurse I've been having chest pain and migraines for the last few weeks every day. She types in the notes he comes in checks my lungs and send med. Refills and say ok see ya .. nothing about my headache or chest pain really ..not the 1st time this happed

No brains office help. This means Dr Patel has no control over his employees. They are destroying his business and he is not aware of it. If you need a PCP look elsewhere.
