Dr. Mejido and her team are truly best in class. They do everything in their power to make sure that your needs are met and you are as comfortable as possible. As someone who has always hated going to the dentist, I truly look forward to my visits with Dr. Mejido and her team.

A friend recommended this dental office, and we decided to give it a try. My husband needed Invisalign, and I wanted a teeth cleaning. When I went in, they presented me with a dental plan to redo my crowns and bridges, place crowns on breaking teeth, and get implants for missing teeth. It was going to be quite pricey—even with two insurances—but I’ve struggled with self-esteem issues related to my teeth for years. Despite the cost (roughly $15,000), we decided to proceed.

While one may ask, “Why didn’t you just stop after the first disappointment?” I’d say this: my teeth have always been an issue for my self-esteem, and any improvement seemed huge to me. I wanted to trust the process.

Unfortunately, my experience became a series of frustrations.

The first set of dental work had a visible gap at the top of my two front teeth. I was told this was necessary if I wanted my teeth to come together, but it felt like a compromise I hadn’t agreed to. The second set of crowns had a different color, which I was told happens if you don’t do everything at the same time. The third set left me with significant sensitivity, which they tried to treat with medication, though it only provided temporary relief.

The fourth set has been the worst. I’ve been in continuous pain ever since, relying on Advil daily to get through it. The office recommended $600 retainers, which ended up being a complete waste of money because I can’t wear them—they only intensified the pain.

Eventually, they said I needed to see a specialist for a potential root canal. After waiting another week and a half for the specialist, I was shocked to learn—just as the procedure was about to begin—that they were out of network, and my out-of-pocket cost would be $1,600–$1,900.

After all the money I’ve already spent at this dental practice, I was devastated. I had never been told the specialist wasn’t in-network. I simply couldn’t afford to pay even more, especially that amount. Instead of showing empathy or trying to work with me, the office just let me leave in pain.

Now, upon reflection, I can’t help but think of the huge amount of money spent, the pain I’m feeling, and the disappointment. The last $600 for the retainer was essentially money wasted.

Going to the dentist it’s never going to be fun. But they treat you so well that you don’t mind visiting again. This staff really takes care of you while there. Extremely pleased with the professionalism of everyone.

I have been to many dentists for various dental problems and about 4-5 years ago a good friend recommended me Dr. Mejido. It was very hard for me to trust dentists and the way they went about performing any procedures. During these past 5 years I had many procedures done ( 4 crowns, 2 root canals, a bridge and now an implant). Dr. Mejido and her associates have been conscious of my discomfort with dental procedures and have always provided a level of comfort that has restored my trust in the dental profession. They always communicate providing me options, explaining clearly each procedure, and showing a level of care for me as a patient that I did not experience before with any other dentist.

Love A1 dentistry. Just changed insurances, but made sure it was a PPO to continue to go there since they do not accept HMO’s. Staff is super nice and they are very professional. Would refer them to anyone who is looking for a good Dentist.
